As we are in the midst of sweater weather, Fashion brands are stuffing their shopping windows and websites with hundreds of thousands of knitwear options in literally every colour you can imagine. Although it might seem like we are spoilt for choice (and we are), when shopping for knitwear, we really need to stick to the golden rule – quality over quantity.
It is extremely easy to find a sweater in your preferred colour and call it a day. What can be a little bit more tricky is to find a good quality, durable and versatile piece, that will keep you warm and last you for longer than just one season. We are talking wool, cotton and cashmere. No acrylic and polyester fabrics that lose shape and colour after one wash and are just about as warm and a plastic bag.
Yes, we know, natural fabrics are much pricier and might be out of a lot of people’s budgets. And we totally get that. However, if you think of it as an investment piece, these knits will last you for years to come and will still look fantastic. In all honesty, there are brands that will charge you over a hounded pounds for a basically plastic jumper that does nothing for you except it is trendy. We did get a couple of tips on such brands but will not share as the source is unknown (pun intended). So it is better to save your coin and invest in high quality pieces. That being said, here are some of our favourite brands to shop for knitwear. Just in time for Black Friday, too.
