Met Gala, or as some might say “fashion’s biggest night out” is THE fashion event of the year. There is absolutely no denying it. Organised by Vogue (aka Anna Wintour) the annual gala raises funds for the benefit of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York City. Traditionally every first Monday of May. Every year, world’s biggest stars spend weeks, if not months, in preparation for this glamorous evening, hoping to make the headlines. Every Met Gala is also carried in a different theme for the guests and their stylists to follow when working on their looks. Some hit, some miss. And that is, quite frankly, what the audience is most interested about. That and also who made the guestlist cut each year.
‘…everything you could possibly imagine. And much more.’
From extravagant creations – aka Rihanna’s Pope inspired look in 2018 or Katy Perry wearing a chandelier to the Met Gala’s red carpet in 2019 – to glowing gowns (quite literally – and yes, we are thinking everything Zac Posen). Met Gala gives us everything you could possibly imagine. And much more. And as every event, even this one has its queens, aka the ones that, let’s be honest, carry the event. In the case of the Met Gala it would be Rihanna, Blake Lively, Zendaya or Bella Hadid, to name a few. And we cannot wait what they have in store for us this year. Therefore, as the event is now fast approaching, let’s take a small trip down memory lane. Swipe to see some of the best Met Gala looks.
