Is chocolate brown the new black? Well, although that is quite a strong statement and we dare to disagree, this particular colour has skyrocketed in popularity over the past couple of years. Especially during autumn months. This rich, warm tone of brown has made its way up and is now a strong leader of autumn fashion.
As we said, we highly doubt any colour will ever replace black. That queen is holding tight onto her crown and will no let go. And we applaud that. That being said, incorporating some chocolate brown pieces into your wardrobe can do wonders for (not only) your autumn looks.
Browns are without a doubt the go-to colours of the season. With leaves slowly changing colours and Starbucks coming out with their pumpkin-spiced drinks, we generally tend to shift the focus to our wardrobes and dig for any autumn-themed clothing we can find. And for that very own reason we like to say that autumn is THE season for chocolate brown.
neutral yet a pop of colour
Many like to opt for chocolate brown for one single reason – it is way less harsh than black. Especially if you have soft features (think Elle Fanning or Amanda Seyfried) wearing heavy black clothes does not necessarily sit well with you. That is when this shade of brown comes to the rescue, it still gives you that classy neutral look without washing you out. Another reason is that, although still being a neutral, due to its rich nature and red undertones, it serves as a “pop of colour” to the ones who are not particularly thrilled about wearing colours. And thirdly, although we love our blacks and whites and greys, it has to be said. It is way less boring than the usual neutrals.
