Fendi AW23 new collection was yet another show stopper at this year’s Milan Fashion Week. Kim Jones kept it ‘in the family’ this season and the muse for his new collection was no other than Delfina Delettrez. The designer himself claimed that the very reason for his muse of choice was because “The first day that Delfina walked into work, she was wearing blue and brown, and I thought she looked so great. There’s a chicness but a perversity to the way she twists Fendi, which is what I love.”Jones then described the collection itself as “deconstructed, but luxurious. There’s a little nod to punk, and my admiration for DIY, but moved on towards something chic.”
feminine designs with masculine twist
Looking at the collection in question, we can see a lot of those ‘punk’ features in forms of chunky boots, leather pieces and dark tones. Similar to Prada, there’s a fair bit of ‘office-wear’ inspired looks. We can see plenty of tailored pieces, tote bags and fine knits. Another noticeable characteristics of the the Fendi AW23 collection is following what seems to be the biggest trend of this year – midi & maxi lengths. This collection carries over the same feminine theme from the house’s spring 2023 haute couture collection. Only in the ready-to-wear version, it got a bit of a masculine twist to it. We can see plenty of wide tailored pieces and boxy cuts as opposed to lace tops, heeled boots and fitted knitwear and tight high boots.
